Vision Boards Can Help You Achieve Your Dreams!

Updated: Nov 25, 2019

Have you been wanting to make a change in your life? Do you have goals and dreams you want to achieve?

They might be big changes, like a new career or a new relationship. They could be goals, like making healthier choices or starting a side hustle. Maybe it’s plans like a beach vacation or buying a new car, but you’re having a hard time making them happen. One great way to help you focus on your goals and make your dreams a reality is by using a vision board.

Why Use a Vision Board?

A vision board is a simple tool to help you use visualization in a practical, everyday way. What is visualization, you ask? It’s a well-known technique where you visualize what you want as already being true.

Dreaming about a new career? Visualizing means you take time to really think and feel that this new career is already in place. You see yourself walking into your new company’s office. You smell the coffee, see your new desk, greet your co-workers. You feel the feelings and experience the emotions of your goal as already being true, and this can work for any goal.

According to author Jack Canfield, “the daily practice of visualizing your dreams as already complete can rapidly accelerate your achievement of those dreams, goals, and ambitions.” Achieving my goals faster? Sign me up!

How To Create a Vision Board

Creating a vision board is easy! At its most basic, a vision board is simply a place to collect images that speak to you and when you look at them will remind you to think about and visualize the goal or dream it represents as true.

What To Put on a Vision Board

One option is to use a piece of poster board and some magazines you don’t mind cutting up. Cut out pictures and words from the magazines that represent a goal or dream you are wanting to accomplish and tape or glue them to the board.

Another option is creating a vision board online, no scissors or glue needed. Pinterest, Evernote, or even your phone’s note app can be an easy way to save photos to an online “board”. You can search for photos that mean something to you and represent your goals or dreams, and then save those photos to whichever place you choose.

How To Use a Vision Board

Your vision board can be big or small. It can hold one dream or goal or many. If you’ve created a paper vision board, be sure to place it somewhere you will see it every day, or even better, multiple times a day. Seeing your vision board prompts you to use the powerful technique of visualization over and over, which increases your success.

If you chose to create a vision board online, set a reminder on your phone to go look at each day. Set as many reminders as you want. Remember, looking at your vision board and visualizing the goals on it regularly is the key to making your vision board work for you.

Harness the Power of Vision Boards

As easy as it is to make a vision board at home, it can be even more powerful to create a vision board alongside someone who can help you with the process.

Vision board workshops allow you to make your board while also having an expert guide you with tips on how to make those changes happen. You can learn while also creating something to take home that inspires you and helps your dreams come true. How awesome is that?!
